Dark fruits (figs/dates) and a rich, lightly toasted malt sweetness. No hop character. No diacetyl. No DMS.
9 / 12
Dark brown with garnet highlights. Low amount of off-white head that quickly retreats to form a collar of tight bubbles around edge of glass.
3 / 3
Toasty, Munich malt type flavors, lightly toasted bread crust-like melanoidins dominate. Moderate amount of hop bitterness keeps this beer from being cloying. Flavor leans to the malty side. No roast or burnt flavors. Clean fermentation. No diacetyl, no DMS.
16 / 20
Medium body with medium carbonation. Light alcohol warmth and a light hop-derived astringency.
4 / 5
This beer pretty much hits every point of the guidelines. I'd probably like to see just a little bit more body to compliment the deep, rich malty flavor. Overall a top notch beer.
