Style: 2C Classic American Pilsner
Beer Info:
Descriptors:
Bottle Inspection: All Good
Bottle Comments:

Aroma:
Strong earthy spicy hop aroma. Light malt aroma with notes of corn. Clean fermentation, no esters.
10 / 12

Appearance:
Brilliantly clear pale gold with rising bubbles. Thin head of fine white foam that collapses quickly but leaves a persistent ring of foam at the periphery of the glass.
3 / 3

Flavor:
Strongly buttered with spicy, herbal hops which outweigh the underlying malt. Malt profile has some light bready, cracker notes and hints of corn. Clean, crisp with a lingering smooth bitterness.
15 / 20

Mouthfeel:
Medium light body, medium high carbonation. No alcohol heat or astringency. Crisp
5 / 5

Overall:
Excellent beer, extremely enjoyable. Very hoppy, pushing the limits of the style. Well executed with no significant process flaws. Consider a slightly lower bitterness and restrained late hopping.

Score Sheet #2 - Judged by a Provisional Judge judge and scored 35

Judge: Nik Allen (nikpallen@gmail.com)
Judge Qualification: Provisional Judge
Entry ID: 69977668
Style: 2C Classic American Pilsner
Beer Info:
Descriptors: Diacetyl DMS
Bottle Inspection:
Bottle Comments:

Aroma:
Initial wave of Pilsner malt quickly dominated by corn & some DMS; Light Diacetyl; Very small amount of earthy hop character
5 / 12

Appearance:
Crystal clear; Very Pale, almost Chardonnay-like color; Tight White Head that dissipates more quickly than I would have anticipated.
2 / 3

Flavor:
Relatively clean taste that should be expected for the style. Noticeable corn flavor that could be pulled back a bit. Very lovely touch of bitterness that barely lingers.
16 / 20

Mouthfeel:
Phenomenal creaminess. Medium carbonation. Dry crisp finish. The perfect amount of bitterness that's just short of astringent.
5 / 5

Overall:
Clean dry finish and assertive hop character give me reason to keep drinking this beer, though the DMS & diacetyl notes leave this short of exemplary. Try a longer open boil and let it lager longer & colder.
