Bottle Comments:

Aroma:
Dark fruit aromas, most like raisins or figs, take center stage, followed by a complex malt character. Toasty, bread crust-like melanoidin notes and a malty, pilsner-like sweetness are most prevalent. Light fruity esters - similar to apples or pears and a light clove phenolic note. No hops. No diacetyl. No DMS.
11 / 12

Appearance:
Large stand of rocky off-white foam that retreats to form a persistent collar of off-white head. Deep amber, almost copper with moderate clarity.
3 / 3

Flavor:
Raisin/dried cherry-like sweetness, followed by a rich, melanoidin, bread crust like toasty character. I'm getting a slight smokey flavor as it warms, with maybe a little oxidized cardboard flavor.
16 / 20

Mouthfeel:
Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Medium, smooth alcohol warmth. Creamy with no astringency.
5 / 5

Overall:
Excellent, complex beer. The Munich-esque malt flavors and the dark, dried fruit flavors really play well together.
9 / 10
