Bottle Inspection: All Good
Very low amount of light biscuity, crackery and bready malt aroma that is soundly dominated by a high amount of juicy tropical fruit hop aroma - pineapple is the most dominate, mango, passion fruit and grape fruit. Medium amount of honey-like sweetness peaks thru the hop assault. Lows whisps of sweet alcohol poke thru as the sample warms.
11 / 12
Deep gold with copper highlights. Brilliant clarity. Medium-low amount of slightly off-white head that quickly dissipates, leaving a ring around the edge of the glass.
3 / 3
Low amount of biscuit and cracker-like malt foundation that is, again, soundly dominated by a high amount of hop flavor and a moderately high amount of hop bitterness. Hop flavor is similar to the aroma - pineapple, passion fruit and mango. Moderately high amount of alcohol sweetness. Balance is soundly toward the hops, but there is a moderately high amount of residual sweetness that keeps the bitterness in check. As sample warms a dill, garlic, onion-like hop flavor pokes thru just a little bit.
14 / 20
Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Moderate alcohol warmth, bordering on hot. Low creaminess with a medium amount of astringency - both hops and alcohol derived.
4 / 5
Overall an excellent example of the style. There is just a touch too much honey-like sweetness present in the flavor that makes it seem just a little bit too far to the sweet side for the style. The alcohol present is approaching hot. With just a touch less alcohol, this could really be a 42+ point beer.
