The Great and Powerful SaazPosted on May 14th, 2014 by Andy W. in "Just Plain Good Drinkin' Beers"
This recipe, which I call “The Great and Powerful Saaz”, was originally put together to use up an excess of Saaz leaf hops that I purchased last year. The first version used an impressive 13oz of all Saaz leaf hops and was an incredibly floral, spicy and delicious beer. Since I enjoyed it so much but didn’t feel like buying almost a pound of leaf hops every time I wanted to brew it, I decided to use the hops more strategically and use Magnum for bittering instead of several ounces of leaf Saaz.
